Iran is ready to resume nuclear negotiations with Washington on condition that it is approached with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has announced.

The Iranian diplomat stated exclusively dialogue was effective, and disclosed new appeals had come from mediators to resume negotiations with the American leadership. He said Iran possessed no secret atomic facilities, and Tehran was not yet able to authorize the International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect attacked atomic facilities for security reasons.

Walking a Challenging Path

The foreign minister is walking a difficult course since Iran wishes not to be perceived to be proceeding from a situation of vulnerability, and he consistently maintained that Iran had emerged stronger in military terms and emotionally from the Israeli-US attack on its atomic facilities in June.

He was speaking at a defense forum in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to refine atomic fuel within its borders that it will never give up" – the primary cause of the deadlock in the prior discussions.

Earlier Talks Unexpectedly Terminated

The earlier sessions of talks between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and hostile end on 12 June when Israel, with US support, struck Iran's enrichment centers in a two-week conflict that culminated with Donald Trump claiming the locations had been obliterated. Afterward, Western states exercised their authority to reinstate international penalties, but Iran asserts they have not had a major impact.

Perfect Agreement Suggested

Iranian officials said they felt they had reached a "ideal resolution" to the enrichment issue in earlier negotiations, when it was settled an local partnership with American involvement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to claim victory since home-based processing would have continued and the US could be confident that Iran's enrichment initiative was exclusively peaceful.
